THE REBUILD

The start. First thing was touching up the frame, seen  here resprayed gun-metal....plus new foot-peg, polished heel guard.

Engine cover may be salvageable ??

Bits that got pelted with gravel, sanded and ready for paint.

Steering lock stop needed replacement {thanks Steve}

My baby sits all cold and naked ready for the next step in this very, very, very, slow process. You can't see in the pics, but those exhausts are slightly pitted with gravel rash on the LHS. New pipes sourced from Ebay are on their way...These will become fully polished trackday pipes...

It took hours to remove all the kitter litter collected from the track crash. It was stuck in every nook and cranny on the bike. This is the bike completely stripped and cleaned of all crap, stones, gravel, grass...

Painted frame plate, swing-arm, polished heel guard...gravel rash gone !!!!

Wheels ready for primer

Better shot showing new Evo 3 black painted swing-arm and frame plates. Also polished exhausts.

Bodywork repainted and fitted...wheels now silver.

Wheels repaired and sprayed ice metallic silver with clear-coat

Tail, nose air-box and tank all in place

Picture left shows the bike after it's shakedown run. The Temporary F/G fairings we're borrowed from Ed at Racersden who got them from Europe. Much to his dismay, they are average quality and poor finish....but they at least get me back on the road and are fine as trackday fairings. {thanks for the lend Ed} I took the opportunity to give them a bit of a lift by giving them a quick sand and coat of satin black. This was followed by some "experimental" graphics I made up . This should do the job for a month or so, until my new, superb, high quality "Racersden" fairings plus the originals are complete.

Check out Ed's website...he'll have a full F/G or Carbon body panels and fairings available very soon for all F4's at fantastic prices.
